Meet Dot - An Original Cosplay Character

In celebration of SDCC 2024 and the new Deadpool and Wolverine movie releasing at the same time, I decided to create an in-universe original cosplay character.

Meet Dot - she works at Deadpool's Chimichanga Shack. She's an outstanding waitress who isn't really sure how she ended up being one but is going to make the best of the situation. Her 'flair' is on point. She's got jokes. She isn't a stranger to curse words but would rather let her "boss" do the talking when it comes to using them. She chews gum and kicks butt but is all out of bubble gum....and her arthritis prevents her from actually kicking anyone's butt. Her favorite menu items are the Fastball Special and the Domino Effect. Her Shoe Tacos are named Jose-A and Jose-B

I was inspired by several factors - the iconic 50's/60's diner esthetic, a recent trip to the Waffle House in Joplin MO where the absolute BEST waitress served us on the 4th of July no less, the rough times the service industry workers have always experienced (made even worse by the pandemic), the silly Dad jokes that are always coming in and out of my life (at home and at work). Basically, I wanted to create a character that could work in the Marvel Universe but isn't a powered hero - she's got power over your dining experience and that's all she needs to make or break your day.
